Good Money Saving Weekend

1st Super Fresh

The had the Venus Divine Razor on clearance for $3.49 using my $2.00 off any Venus razor made them $1.49 ( and they came with 2 refill cartridges, making this cheaper than buying refills!)

Pert Plus shampoo was .29 cents after the $3.00 coupons

They have the reynolds vacuum bags on sale for 2/400 I used 2 stickie coupons for $2.00 off one making these free!

Also, good deals on their marked down produce.

Vine tomatoes (huge) 4 for $1.10

peppers 4 green for $1.00

Walmart

was kinda of a bust. My clerk was a coupon nazi! She went through everything with a fine tooth comb and told me I couldn't use 2 of my stackables. I wasn't thrilled.

To make myself feel better... I headed to McDonalds and ordered a Southern Chicken Sandwich(free with Med drink Purchase). By the way, the cheapest medium drink is the Sweet Tea. It is $1.20 and a regular soda is $1.50 and the Sweet Tea Medium is Huge. After paying $1.28 for Lunch I was well on my way to feeling better!

The Public Library

I just have to post an entry about my Public Library. This is the best place to get cheap entertainment! Since trying to live on less, I have been looking for cheap alternatives for activities. First, My Library rents DVDs including new releases for $1.00 a week or you can buy a book of 6 movie coupons for $5.00( what a deal!). Next, my daughter & Son can rent, at no cost computer games, books on tape, and musical CDs. Finally, as an avid reader, I can buy books for a very cheap price $.25 for a softcover and $.50 for hardcover. Sometimes they do a $1.00 a shopping bag book day. The Library also has group activities for children and adults. Anyone who is trying to stay on a budget , should check out their public library.

Speaking of inexpensive activities..... I am off to have a campout.....in my own backyard. More on this venture later!

Living on Less

One of the goals I have is to start Living on Less. For as long as I can remember, my family has had it good! I know that we have it better than most, but we got caught up in the buying bigger and better. In early spring I realized that we started spending more than we were making. Which is a really scary idea when you stop and think about it. I have lived my entire life up to now DEBT FREE. Then in one year, I went overboard remodeling and before you know it I have $17,000.00 on a Home Equity Loan. When all the work was done I realized, I was No happier than if I wouldn't have done it and I thought about how I could have better spent that money. Well, that being said... I have started a quest to revamp our lifestyle! I have become a bargain shopper, refunder, and an avid couponista. I have had some early experience because my mother is a Coupon Queen, but over the years, I lost my drive to use them. Then early in April, I took time to look at where I am in my life and thought...... This is not where I want to be! So begins my adventure of stockpiling, saving, and Living on Less.

Newbie

Ok, so I am new at this ( as if you couldn't tell). I have just spent wayyyyy too much time trying to get an even basic blog going! I have been so envious of all the blog posters out there, that I simply had to try doing my own! I am hoping to be able to post about various things from my family (comical relief), to saving money, and trying to live more simply. As the big 40 approaches, I started evaluating my life and decided that I wanted to start living totally for my family and me. Saying NO to committees and obligations that I really don't want to do, but have always been suckered in to doing, because I just couldn't say NO! I want to SLOW DOWN and enjoy the rest of the ride.... in my life. Hopefully, this will be a great outlet to meet fellow bloggers, vent and just be myself!
